May 21, 2008

Mariah and I got up early this morning with our little ones, bundled them up, and took them to the Martinsburg Fire Department to get their car seats checked. Our husbands installed our car seats, but we just wanted to double check them. Larry was sure that he installed it properly, and said not to get it checked because he knew he did it right. After getting it checked, it just needed to be slightly tightened. Better safe than sorry! lol

We then wen to Wal-Mart to get some things. She and I split up so I could get the things I needed for the house to stop it from smelling like cats, and she got some groceries. I was on a mission to get every smelly thing possible for the house. We too needed groceries, but I didn't have room in my shopping cart for any food. The smelly stuff was more important.

Kaylee had gymnastics tonight so Larry, Kennedy, and I went grocery shopping while Kaylee had class. We only had an hour, and we needed everything you could think of! We were smart shoppers and got enough stuff to get us rolling again to have home cooked meals every night for about a week. It is time to make a trip to Costco...but we didn't have time to go tonight.

Kennedy was really grouchy today. Larry thinks she is getting sick, but her temperature is fine so far. I think she is just real gassy and is having a hard time passing it. She is a little on the stuffy side, but not real bad. We will just have to keep an eye on her.

Update on Butcher: So wow....he is coming home either today or tomorrow! That is just amazing considering he has been through so much with his surgery. I am sure there will be lots of rehabilitation and recovery time for him...and I hope he gets plenty of rest once he is home. His wife is having a cook out for him at the end of the month, so I am excited to be able to see him.

Hooray for David Cook! All I can say is I was pleasantly surprised....actually I screamed when he won! I totally thought little Archileta was going to take the crown...but Cook won it! He totally deserved it!!

I think I saw you go through town today, I thought about following you so I could see the baby but I didn't want to scare you, some crazy woman following you would have probably done that. I went on to the station and hoped you would bring Kennedy in but you must have gone somewhere else. I say I think because it was a black jeep with temp tags and the woman driving looked like the pictures I have seen of you. And I would have really looked stupid if I had followed somebody I really really didn't know. LOL

Butcher got home on the 21st. He called into the station about 4 or 5 while I was in there to let everybody know he was home and doing okay.

Kristen, I can't believe it's you! I would have recognized your big smile anywhere!!! It's a friend from your past...... Rachel : ) How have you been girl? The last time we spoke was at Wal Mart about 2 years ago. Anyway, my mother in law works at Coldwell Bankers and her co worker (James) gave her the blog spot and she has been praying for your little angel. She was telling us about your situation as we have other friends who's newborns are fighting for their lives also. She thought your husband was a State Trooper as my husband (her son) was a WV Trooper/ Sniper for 11 years. Now he works for the Pentagon as a Federal Police Officer and Firearms Instructor.
Anyway, I have read every entry of your blogs. WOW! WHat a miracle your beautiful daughter is. GOD sure knows how to work in our lives. I know your life is beyond crazy now....but please get in touch with me when ever you have a few minutes. I would love to get caught up. Oh how our lives have changed since Huntington Bank....Foxcroft Ave days : ) Being a stay-at home mom on a cops salary is beyond difficult!!! I know first hand. That's why Rich left the state and went to work where the $$ are. Hard decision when you love the guys you work with, the time invested and the people. (some times LOL) It's so stressful living dime to dime. Well, I know you have a baby to take care of. But whenever you can reach me.....give me a call or an email. PS I was listening to YOUR CD just the other day. YOU should have been up there with Cook and Archie ~smile~

Here's my email rae-rae-77@comcast.net or my cell @ 304-906-5261
I'll be praying for your precious family.
Love, Rachel Shockey
